We have launched this all-basketball site "InternationalBasketball" at the prestigious address http://www.internationalbasketball.com This remains an individual effort by me, Garo Salibian, and a continuation of the "International Basketball Directory" and "International Basketball Players Network" on Geocities.
At the beginning, this was just a country-by-country listing of international basketball sites. Then we continuously added listings about various basketball subjects.
The International Basketball Network was started with a few basketball player resumés and developed into a hugely followed listing with a good number of players actually getting opportunities to play internationally. We have discontinued this service and phased out its listings.
Language: We will continue to list websites regardless of their language. Although more often than not, our country-by-country listings are bound to be in local languages, some of these websites will still have a section in English language. For uniquely non-English content, I plead that you don't discard the websites off-hand and too easily. A lot of the materials you will find will be relevant to browse, like professional teams in the country, official standings, player profiles, contacts, links pages. You may also possibly get a very good translation of the sites through using of online translation services. I would particularly recommend the Altavista site powered by Systran. All you have to do is put the URL page and Babelfish Altavista will have a very good translation in no time from many languages into English and from English to other languages. Translated Pages: To make our pages more readily accessible, we have installed the Babelfish icon on each of our pages to allow you to browse contents not only in English, but also in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Although translations may not be perfect, but they sure help a lot.
