MOHAMMED ACHA (1974-2002)

Teams: Recruited by Al Hekmeh Sagesse in September 1997 following his outstanding performance

during the African Championship that took place in Senegal. As a member of the National Basketball Team of Nigeria,

he participated in 1998 in the Athens World Championship then in 2001 African Championship in Morocco.

With Lebanese Sagesse,  Acha won three Lebanon Championship titles,  two Lebanon Cup, two Arab Champions Cup and

two Asian Basketball Champions titles. He also played the McDonald's Championship in Milan, Italy, in 1999.

He joined Philippines side Red Bulls (PBA) but had to put a quick end to his career following a cardiac malaise during practice.

He died died of a heart attack in October 2002 while working out in a gym near his home in San Antonio, Texas.
 

 

 

YINKA DARE (1972-2003)

Bio: 7'1 center. Played in George Washington (NCAA), New Jersey Nets (1994-97),

Orlando Magic (1997-98), Golden State Warriors (2000-2001).

He died at the age of 31 from a heart attack in Tenafly, New Jersey.
